You never know how you are affecting someone

shutterstock_110033180It is the coworker that you listen to about her relationship woes or the neighbor that you talk across the fence about gardening. For me it is a coworker that I talk football with. We figure it is not a big deal- we are just chatting. Time and time again, I have learned that these so-called casual relationships end up being a very big deal to the people we are relating to.

We say to ourselves that we want to make a difference. Perhaps a good place to start is to love and embrace the people that you naturally come in contact with. You don't have to relate to different people, you just change how you relate to the people you already interact with. If you open your heart and genuinely care what is going on with them, you will make a huge difference in their lives.

You may come along and encourage them right at the time they needed it the most- and never even know it. But that doesn't mean that it did not have a powerful effect on their life.

So keep loving the people your life intersects with. Keep listening to them and accepting them as they are. It matters more than you will ever know.
