Take the Teeth Out of It

abominableThis is the expression my teacher used for disarming a fear. Whenever you challenge a fear and prove to yourself that it cannot hurt you, you have taken the teeth out of it. The best way to do this to breathe into and embrace the experience that is stimulating the fear. This allows your energy to move forward and confront the fear so you can see it for the illusion that it is.

However, when fear is present, the typical response is to pull away from the experience it is associated with. This unfortunately draws the fear to you creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. This reenforces your fear and walls you away from possibilities and resources.

So pulling away from fear is actually the worst thing you can do. It further entrenches the fear in you and separates you from the abundance of the experience.

But breathing into and embracing the experience allows you to see what's there and access the resources and possibilities that are right in front of you.

So next time you are in an experience that seems scary, do not run away. Breathe into it, embrace it, and take the teeth out of it.
